Bonne Terre Cottage: FarmStay • Getaway • Retreat

Our hand-built passive solar cottage is set near the front of our ten-acre farm. We’re organic gardeners, naturalists, and music lovers.

Cottage is an open space design with a queen-sized bed downstairs and a twin-sized bed/sofa in the loft.

The bathroom has a soaking clawfoot tub, a pedestal sink, & toilet.
Linens and towels provided.

Guests are treated to locally made artisan-made soaps (Bonne Terre Blend - Fern Meadow Soap).
Other amenities include a hair dryer, iron/ironing board, chest of drawers, and plenty of closet hanging space.

Entertainment includes an SmartTV, wifi, an assortment of books, many about and written by Louisiana authors, Turntable, with vinyl collection, regional magazines, small organ and other musical items.

Our cottage kitchen offers everything needed to create a home-cooked meal
Coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, a wide assortment of dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils, cloth napkins and more.

The breakfast nook has a dining room table which seats two and a counter with comfortable swivel chairs for office work or dining, with a great view of the farm.

We are environmentally conscious. Recycling bin & kitchen compost pail provided and we use "Green" non-toxic cleaning products for our rentals.

Cottage also has a printer, paper shredder and several nice spaces to work.

There is a wrap-around porch with a table that seats four, a porch swing for morning or afternoon coffee and a comfortable bench and chairs.

Lots of shaded outdoor sitting areas for bird-watching and enjoying the outdoors. Covered BBQ area with grill (old school charcoal) too.

Our quaint country road is a nice place to have a walk, and of course, all guests are invited to have a farm tour and meet our little family.
