Allen Acres Bed and Breakfast is a 26 acre wooded paradise adjacent to the Kisatchie National Forest, near the picturesque Ouiska Chitto Creek and Fort Polk.  It is listed as a State Natural Area.  The Allens have spent years developing gardens specifically designed to attract butterflies and hummingbirds.  Trails with native trees and wildflowers are available on the property.  A national champion large gallberry tree is just a few feet from the property on the National Forest.  Several chickens and a flock of guineas can be seen and heard.  Breakfast is your choice but the fresh eggs are very popular.  Dr. Charles Allen, an accomplished authority on the native plants of Louisiana can provide tours, for a fee, to some of the rarest ecosystems of the Kisatchie National Forest, Louisiana prairies, spring-fed Bay Galls, or pitcher plant Bogs.  Plant identification classes are offered throughout the year, check for schedule.

This renovated 200 year old home is on Cane River Lake in the Historic District of Natchitoches, Louisiana. Located just two blocks from Downtown Front Street, you’ll find many quaint locally owned shops and restaurants within walking distance.
