The Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival

The countdown has begun to The Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival on the campus of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. This is where you will want to be for three days of food, fun and dancing. The festival dates are March 16, 17 and 18, 2012 and this year will be the fourth year of the festival.

Local and regional musicians will perform and a variety of foods common to South Louisiana will be available throughout all three days. Don’t know how to dance? No problem. Each day of the festival begins with Cajun and Zydeco dance lessons. Once you learn to dance, you will have plenty of practice with the many bands performing throughout the three day event.

The festival will also include historical, cultural and economic presentations as well as artisans demonstrating and selling their homemade arts and crafts.

Located just 10 minutes from the festival grounds, A Chateau on the Bayou Bed and Breakfast in Raceland, Louisiana, is an excellent place to stay. Dance, eat and enjoy the festival, then come back to A Chateau on the Bayou to relax on the banks of Bayou Lafourche.

See you there!
