Recently, tourism professionals from across Louisiana met in Lake Charles for the Lt. Governor’s Tourism Summit 2013. After the first night’s rollicking “Rock Star Reception,” attendees of the three-day summit had the opportunity to listen to several guest speakers, including Roger Dow, President and CEO of US Travel Association; George Zimmerman, Vice President of Travel Michigan; and Steve Harper, author of “The Ripple Effect.”

On the last day of the summit, an awards luncheon was held, and Lt. Governor Dardenne presented Louey Awards to members of the industry who went the extra mile to advance tourism in the state of Louisiana.
Eunice native Felicia Wiggins, member of the Louisiana Bed and Breakfast Association and owner of Le Village Guesthouse & Event Center, was awarded a prestigious Louey Tourism Award.
Le Village, once a 19th century farmhouse, is now a fully refurbished bed and breakfast with four guest rooms furnished with period antiques. Le Village was awarded the 2012 Louey Tourism Award for Accommodation of the Year: Bed & Breakfast.

“It’s exciting for us to have two members of the association win two years in a row,” said Janice DeLerno, President of the Louisiana Bed and Breakfast Association. “But really, it speaks well of Felicia, and we’re happy to congratulate her on this well-deserved honor.”
